Governance Highlights and Rule book

NorCal Powerlifting sets high standards for the federation’s officers and directors. Implicit in this philosophy is the importance of sound athletic governance. It is the duty of the Directors to serve as a prudent fiduciary for participating athletes. To fulfill its responsibilities and to discharge its duty, the Directors follow the procedures and standards that are set forth in these rules. These rules are subject to modification from time to time as the Directors deem appropriate in the best interests of NorCal Powerlifting or as required by applicable regulations.

Committed to you from the start

After listening to and considering numerous lifters’ feedback on gear, NORCAL POWERLIFTING voted to expand the usage of knee wraps, making them an option effective at the November 6, 2016 Powerlifting Event.

Consequently, the equipment rule change constitutes a new division “Raw with Knee Wraps Division.”

Raw with Knee Wraps Division Rules

  • Wraps not exceeding 2.5 m in length and 8 cm in width may be used. A knee wrap shall not extend beyond 15 cm above and 15 cm below the center of the knee joint and shall not exceed a total covered width of 30 cm.
  • Alternatively, a knee sleeve or knee cap made from commercially available neoprene or woven elastic that is covered with polyester, cotton or combinations of either materials of not more than 30 cm in length, and of single-ply thickness, may be worn.
  • Raw lifters have the option of single-ply knee wraps in the Raw with Knee Wraps Division. However it may NOT have any Velcro on it, and it MUST be both non-adjustable and non-fastening.
  • Wraps shall NOT be used elsewhere on the body.
  • A combination of a knee wrap and knee sleeve is strictly forbidden.
